A science and technology writer and editor in Canada

About me

Hello! I’m a writer and editor in Toronto.

I started out as a city reporter at the Montreal Gazette newspaper, then went to Maclean's, Canada’s national newsweekly, where I was a staff writer for almost a decade. After that, I was senior editor at Motherboard, VICE’s technology vertical. I now freelance full-time.

In 2012, I shadowed astronaut Chris Hadfield at NASA’s Johnson Space Center as he prepared to lead the International Space Station. I was the only Canadian print reporter to do so. My writings were collected in a Maclean’s ebook, Chris Hadfield: #GoodMorningEarth.

At VICE, I wrote the screenplay for Living With Jaguars, an interactive VR documentary that premiered at SXSW in 2018. A frequent public speaker and panel moderator, I regularly appeared on both Daily VICE and VICE du jour, as well as radio and TV programs.

Although my work covers a range of topics, I’m most interested in stories about science and technology and how they impact our lives.
